Rıza Haluk SŐNER

He was born in 1970 in Ankara. After high school in classical studies, he attended the Faculty of Letters and Archaeology at the University of Ankara where he graduated with honors in 1993. He continued his studies at the Postgraduate School of Classical and Medieval Archeology at the University of Lecce. Later he won a doctorate in Classical Archeology at Sacro Cuore Catholic University in Milan. He carries out various research in the academic field, receiving the title of "subject matter expert" from the University of Salento and participates in various projects related in archaeology, culture and tourism. Afterwards he worked as Deputy Director of the Italian Archaeological Mission in Hierapolis and he also worked as professor of Classical Archeology in Türkiye. In 2017 he joined TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency) as Deputy Coordinator for foreign countries and responsible for North and South America, South and South-East Asia and Australia. Since May 2020 he has been a Counselor at the Embassy of Turkiye in Italy with the Directorate of the Culture and Information Office.
