Journalist, blogger and Orientalist
Marco Restelli fall in love with far eastern countries when he was in high school and deepens with a degree in Hindi language and literature at the University Ca ' Foscari of Venice. Then, thanks to a participation in an archaeological mission of the IsMEO in Nepal, his love increased. He has become a professional journalist, he works for numerous periodicals (until he becomes deputy Director of GEO) traveling throughout Asia writing reportages. He considers Tiziano Terzano as his Master. Meanwhile, he collaborates with various universities, publishing several essays, especially on the religious and political history of India. He has practised meditation in Buddhist monasteries in Burma and Japan. Today Marco is Professor of Indian culture at the Department of Linguistic Mediation and Intercultural Studies of the University of Milan, but he also a journalist and he is the blogger of MilleOrienti (www.milleorienti.com). He loves guiding people in Asia because, he says, "I like to sharing with others my passion and knowledge for Asia."
